Christine Dorman

Christine Dorman DNP, APRN, ACNP-BC, CCRN is the owner and lead nurse consultant of Vantage Point Legal Nurse Consulting (VPLNC). Her career has spanned three decades across several hospital settings.

She began her professional journey in 1991 as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), became a Registered Nurse (RN) in 1995, earned her Bachelor of Science in nursing (BSN) in 1999 from Florida International University, and obtained a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with specialization as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) in 2005 from Barry University. She completed her Doctor of Nursing (DNP) in Health Systems Executive Leadership from the University of Pittsburgh in 2021.

Christine brings extensive clinical expertise in medical-surgical, telemetry, trauma, pulmonary, adult critical care, advanced practice, and academic education. She currently practices as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner in Southeast Florida and serves as an adjunct professor educating graduate students in the Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program.

As a legal nurse consultant (LNC), Christine provides litigation support and serves as a testifying expert in cases involving adult and advanced practice critical care nursing. She assists attorneys with medical interpretation, case analysis, medical chronologies, summaries, literature review, and expert testimony.

 

Christine has authored a newsletter for the Greater Orlando AALNC Chapter on Rapid Response and Failure to Rescue and was a contributing author to three volumes of Pat Iyer’s Medical Record Analysis: A Guide for Attorneys by Expert LNCs. Her chapter contributions include:

  • “The Impact of Medication Errors due to Communication Failures in the Critical Care Setting (2022)”
  • “The Challenges of Copying and Pasting (2023)” and
  • “Common Liability Claims Against Nurse Practitioners (2024).”

She has also been featured on several podcasts, including Pat Iyer’s Legal Nurse Podcast and Tina Baxter’s The Nurse Shark Academy where she shared insights on topics such as “Catastrophic Medication Errors” and “How One Nurse with a Passion for Education Uses Her Skill Set as a Legal Nurse Consultant.”

Christine holds active memberships in several professional organizations, including the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants (AALNC), The Greater Orlando AALNC chapter (GOAALNC), Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM), American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN), and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). She is a former member of the National Nurses in Business Association (NNBA) and currently serves on the GOAALNC Board of Directors as a Director-at-Large.
